The Updike's

  Garrett and I love to camp, but we have always been hesitant to go since having kids.  It all just seemed overwhelming.  We decided to take the camping leap when we had to scope out the site we booked for youth conference that we are in charge of in a few weeks.  We loved having 3 other families join us on this fun weekend!  We asked Lily and Boston what their favorite thing about camping was:  Hands down - night games with their flashlights.   The only minor setback was the Crewster.  He did fantastic until it came to sleeping.  He insisted on sleeping right on me and it made for one long night.   It was so cute . . . all of the little girls scoured the campground for the wildflowers.  They were in 7th heaven!      The kids absolutely loved playing in this little ditch down a small incline from where we put our tents.  They called it "the bridge....

While the boys go camping on the ward's Father and Son's outing . . . the girls definitely play!   Lily was completely devastated that she couldn't go camping with the boys but once girl's night started, she was in 7th heaven!  We started the night out by having a girls party at one of Lily's friends house.  It was so cute to watch about 8 or so little girls all play together.  The moms of course, ate great food and chit chatted.  It was so fun!   My favorite part of the night was hanging out with this little love.  We put Crew to bed and then we just spent a fun night together.  She picked out her favorite treat: Sour Patch Kids. And then she lined up all of the nail polish to have her feet and hands painted.  She reminds me of myself with my mom . . . I would just talk my mom's ear off and Lily totally does the same to me.  I absolutely love it!  Sure love this lovely Lily-belle!  This little handsome m...

   And so it begins . . . boys will be boys!  Crew loves to wrestle with Boston!    Poor big sister got hit in the eye with a flashlight by baby brother.  Ouch!  Our "special" baby!  "Cool Rider"
