Boston, the Mighty 6-Year-Old!

Image
Happy Happy Birthday to our Mighty 6 year-old Boston boy!!  He has been counting down to his birthday for weeks.  To say he was excited is an understatement! He woke up to 6 Balloons!  Being that it is St. Patrick's Day also  . . .  the kiddos followed the trail of chocolate coins that the Leprechaun left to find a sweet little surprise. Cutest little leprechauns of all!  Rollerskates/Rollerblades has been on Boston's wish list for awhile now.  He was so excited!!  Testing out his new skates.  He was pretty shaky in the beginning, but this kid caught on quick!  His restaurant choice for his birthday was Red Robin.  Boston requested a Minecraft cake this.  (I still don't even know what Minecraft is.  But I found a simple picture and tried to copy it in the most easy way that I could.  Boston was thrilled to help out with the decorating). ...

Living Up His Last Year in His 30's!

Image
This guy turned 39 . . . his last year in his 30's!  We sure loved celebrating him!  Because of his work/church schedule and because of some soccer games for the kids, we decided to celebrate his birthday a couple of days early.  Good thing that we did . . . he ended up being so sick with the flu on his actual birthday.  Poor Guy! His restaurant of choice for his birthday celebration was Texas Roadhouse.   I wanted to make him an extra special birthday cake this year so I tried something new.  He loves anything peanut butter and chocolate (particularly Reeses Peanut Butter Cups).   We sure love and adore him!  We are so thankful that he is ours!

Big 4 Year-Old Crewster!

Happy Happy 4th Birthday to our Big Crew!  To say he was excited is an understatement . . . He was really so cute! The balloon tradition continues on.  Can't believe he gets 4 balloons this year!!!???  Cinnamon rolls for breakfast for the birthday boy! \  The Chuck E. Cheese tradition continues on also.  Every 4 year-old birthday kid in the Updike household gets to celebrate at this "special" place.  Crew loved every minute of it.  (So did all of his siblings!) Crew really wanted a soccer ball cake . . . after many failed decorating attempts, this was the best I could do.  (I thought it would be so easy!  UGH!)  Though it really did look pathetic, our cute Crewster loved it and that was all that mattered. We absolutely love our Crew!  He brings us all great happiness! ...
