Growing up too fast: Crew Boy

Our little love is just growing up way too fast!  It has been a very long time since I documented some of the wonderful things that he is doing now.   The picture above captures what he does when we tell him to show us his silly face.  I absolutely love it!

  • He has just now taken off with talking.  He loves to repeat everything that we say.  Some of my favorites:
    • Bon Bon = Boston
    • I nun no = I don't know
    • Pa Pa = Grandpa
    • ily = Lily                  
  • He loves to repeat a question and when we give him an answer he says: "Ohhhhhh."
  • Very Independent.  If we try to help him he says, "I fine."
  • He loves his white blanket.
  • He has become a very picky eater.  And like his mom, he loves treats.
  • Still struggles in the sleeping department.  He LOVES to sleep with mom and dad.
  • Loves to play with Lily and Boston.  He gets sad when they are gone at school.
  • Obsessed with babies.  
  • Although he is playful, he is a very cautious little man also.  Very much an observer.
  • Struggles with nursery . . . but getting better.  He loves Brother Ream, our bishopric counselor that comes in to help out his wife with nursery sometimes.  
  • Loves to be outside.
  • If his siblings or friends touch him, he will run up to me and try to tell me what happened.  A whole lot of gibberish with hand actions and then he says, "Arm" or "head" or whatever body part that they touched.  It is pretty hilarious!
  • Still obsessed with shoes. 
I can't believe that he will not be the baby of the family soon.  We sure love this little guy so very much!  How very blessed we are to have such fantastic children!

I have loved this yearly tradition of running the Colorado Bolder Boulder with these amazing women.  Unfortunately, this year I had to opt out at the very last minute due to unexpected foot problems (tendonitis).  I love getting geared up every spring and training every Saturday with such a great group of women.  This picture was taken on our annual Saturday breakfast before the run.  I sure hope to run with them again next year.

Lily is Home!

We got to bring Lily home from the hospital last night. It's kinda crazy to think that this beautiful little girl is ours. We definitely have a lot to learn about being parents, but are sure excited for it. We are especially grateful that our families are so willing to help out with everything. My parents are here right now and then Christina's mother and sister will be coming next week. We feel blessed to always have their support. Here are some pictures from the last couple of days. Here is a very proud grandpa spending time with his little grand daughter. He does such a good job with her and it is neat to see how proud he is. Also, here is one of the funniest little videos. So far, her eyes have been very perceptive, but here, I think she got a little overwhelmed. I think her hands mess with her eyes. We have to keep them covered cause she always is scratching her face. Lily Updike

Just wanted to let everyone know that Lily had finally arrived! She came last night at 6:23pm, weighing 7lbs 4oz and 20in long. She is absolutely beautiful! Christina was an absolute champ during the whole process! Both Christina and Lily are doing fantastic. Here are some pics for you to enjoy.
