Lily - 18 months
Where has the time gone? Our little baby or should I say toddler, is turning 18-months tomorrow. For memory/journal sake I wanted to highlight the fun things Lily has learned in these 18 months. Oh, I just love this little girl!
Favorite Foods:
Chicken Nuggets with BBQ Sauce. (and yes, she insists on dipping herself)
Hot Dog/Corn Dog with Ketchup.
Fruit
Popsicles
Cookies/Treats
Yogurt
Obsessed With:
Bikes
Crayons (which she calls "Colors")
Balloons
Flags - Why she likes flags, we have no idea!
Money (coins)
Books
Strollers
Loves to mimic animal noices
Disney Channel: Mickey Mouse Club and Special Agent OSO (she asks to watch these everyday)
Loves children! (does this mean the transition into nursery will be easy?)
Favorite Words and Phrases:
"Hi." Lily will say "hi" to everyone. It is often humorous to take her grocery shopping because she will say "hi" non-stop until the stranger at the store acknowledges her.
She always says "Hi" like 3 or 4 times when she wakes up in the morning and when she wakes from her naps so that mom or dad will come and get her.
"Where'd Go?" We are not sure where Lily got this from but she loves to turn her back towards us and say, "Where'd go?" - meaning, where did Lily go? Then she will turn around and smile so big.
"Alright." She will say this when she is done with us or when she is being independent. If she is being a pill in her high chair, we will take her down and she will cry and say "alright" over and over again.
"At Home." Whenever we ask Lily where someone or something is she will reply, "at home."
Garrett took a chunk out of the wall down our staircase in order to fix a tub drain. Every time we go up or down the stairs she declares: "dada fix it!"
Every morning I ask Lily if she had good dreams . . . she always says: "MMMMmmmmHmmmm."
When we ask Lily what her name is she always replies: "Updike."
We have been working really hard to teach/communicate with Lily when she is feisty or grumpy . . . we are constantly asking her if she is being nice during those grumpy times. On several occasions without us saying anything to her she cries out, "I NICE." Clearly, she knows what "nice" means now.
She understands what it means to be funny. Garrett and I will be laughing about something and she will speak up and say, "funny!."
