Family Reunions

A couple of weeks ago, we had the opportunity to go visit family in Texas and Oklahoma. First on the agenda was El Paso, Texas. My grandparents from my father's side had not had the chance to meet Christina and Lily, so we were so grateful to spend time with them, as well as visit my aunt and uncle. Here are some pictures from the weekend.

As you can see from the pictures, everyone sure loved being with Lily. And of course, Lily was an absolutely charmer. Everywhere we went, she was all smiles and scored lots of points with Mimi and Papa as well as Katie and Robert. We sure had fun with them!

Next, we headed to Oklahoma for the annual Lovett Family Reunion (from my mom's side). We had tons of fun seeing grandma and all of the aunts, uncles, cousins, and new babies that came from all over.

Here is Grandma Lovett with Lily. You can see how happy they both are!

This is Grandma trying to get a picture with all of the great-grandchildren. It was difficult to get all of the kids to cooperate. Very funny.

Here are all of the babies that have been born in the last year, their mothers and grandma. The family is growing quite rapidly!

We threw a surprise birthday party for my grandmother. She turns 80 today. She is an amazing woman and has done some wonderful things throughout her life.

We also had the chance to get Lily in the pool. It was so much fun and she absolutely loved it! I think we might have a swimmer on our hands, which will make her mother quite proud!

All in all, the trip was fantastic! We sure love all of our family and are so glad that we were able to spend time with so many of them.

And finally, we have to show some pictures of one of the best accomplishments of the week. Lily had finally taken to eating solid food! Woohoo! We tried it a few weeks ago and she ate rice cereal once. But then she wouldn't have anything to do with it the next day. So we decided to put it on hold for a bit. And now she just can't get enough. It is really funny to watch her learn to use her lips, mouth and tongue to eat.

And here is the sign that she is finished.

Sounds like you guys had a blast. I love all those babies!! How fun for Lily. That little belly at the end of her meal is hilarious! She almost looks like her Uncle Mike. Love you little Lily.
