The Updike's

Lily had double fun celebrating her 6th birthday.  Because we thought that I would be in the hospital still on her birthday - - we made sure that we celebrated her birthday the weekend before her birthday.  She was still quite spoiled on her actual birthday!  She loved waking up to our "traditional" birthday balloons tied to her bed.  6 balloons . . . ??!!! She is getting too big too fast!    I am so grateful for my mom for helping out with decorations, cupcake decorating and dinner making to make her day so special while I was recovering from delivering Presley.          Enjoying her birthday donuts for breakfast!      Cupcake making time with Grandma Crossley      "High Heeled Cupcake"  Pizza dinner and cupcakes for the big birthday girl!  

And just like that, the Updikes have switched from the zone defense back to the double team...  But this time it's reversed!  Four kids and two parents - Uh Oh!  We are thrilled to announce that Presley Updike joined our family on Sunday, February 1st at 9:38am.  She blew her siblings away at a whopping 8lbs 1oz with a length of 19.5 inches.  Christina was scheduled to be induced the following Monday, but this little girl wasn't going to wait around for that!  What a blessing to have this little one join our family!   Here is the calm before the storm...  As always, Christina is an absolute rock star and she amazes me.  I am in awe of her strength with the arrival of each kiddo.  And particularly with Presley, she was amazing!  We arrived at the hospital around 1:00am.  Things went pretty slowly.  She started serious pushing around 8:15am and that went on for well over an hour.  She is incredible and no one will...
