The Updike's

We sure love these sweet children! They truly do bring great joy to our life! We thank Heavenly Father daily for these 2 great gifts! Boston is already 5 weeks old now! He really is such a sweet and content baby. He loves to cuddle, yet he also enjoys his own space. He will just lay on the bed or floor and look around contently for a long stretch of time. If we work really hard he will give us the cutest grin. He has a cute little dimple on the right side of his face! I love it! He seems to be growing very quickly as he has already grown out of the newborn diapers. (Garrett is excited because it means he might be big enough to play football.) Lovely Lily . . . what a sweetheart! We just love her spunky personality. She always puts a smile on our face with her funny comments. Despite her attitude and stubbornness that sometimes surface, she is very loving and loves to make people happy. She is definitely Miss Smarty Pants. Her vocabulary is fantastic. She is always talking...

St. Patrick's Day will no longer be just another holiday in the Updike home... It is now the day that Boston Garrett Updike joined our family! On Thursday morning at 7:19, this little guy weighed in at 7lbs 1oz and was 18.5 inches long. As you can see from the pictures, he is a real cutie, maybe even the best looking little boy ever born! (We might be a little biased.) We were so happy to get him home on Saturday. And it has been so fun to see Lily get so excited to have a little brother around. She keeps coming up to him and saying "so sweet" and then leans in to give him some kisses. It is adorable! It is really hard to believe that our family has just gone from 3 to 4. It is a little scary, but we are so excited! I also have to tell a funny story about Lily. On Friday, I took her with me to the store so that she could pick out a present for Boston. As we were walking down the aisle, I kept pointing at different toys and asking if that is what she wanted ...

Happy Birthday Garrett! Because we initially thought that Garrett would have church meetings tonight, we decided to celebrate during his lunch break. Lily and I met him at one of his favorite restaurants, "Red Robin." Birthday Boy! A nice complimentary birthday dessert from the restaurant. Who do you think is more excited? Lily or Garrett? Lily had been excited all day to help mom frost the cupcakes and put sprinkles on them. I am pretty sure she ate more frosting than what she put on the cupcake. Even more hilarious is how she put the sprinkles on . . . (obviously from the video, we will not be sharing these cupcakes with anyone but family). What a cute kid!
