Let the Halloween Festivities begin!  Pumpkin Carving.  I had to beg Boston to participate this year and Lily was an absolute no.  Sad they are all growing up and don't love to do these things anymore.

Trick or Treating!

This year I tried something new.  In past years we always talk about getting together as a neighborhood and having dinner before trick or treating.  This year Garrett and I decided to make it happen.  We provided 2 kinds of chili and the rest of the neighbors brought some sides and drinks to go along with the chili.  It was super fun to all be together.  It was soooo cold though!!

So yesterday, the moment I had been dreading finally came. First, you should know that I have always loved Christina's long hair. I think she looks fantastic! Yet since we have known each other, she has always told me that she wants to get her hair cut shorter. I have tried to help her resist that urge... not because she won't look great, rather because I think she is beautiful with her long hair. Well, yesterday, she went to have her Aunt give her a "trim." Or at least that is what she told me. On her way home, she texted me to let me know that I should be expecting something quite different. Boston Garrett Updike

St. Patrick's Day will no longer be just another holiday in the Updike home... It is now the day that Boston Garrett Updike joined our family! On Thursday morning at 7:19, this little guy weighed in at 7lbs 1oz and was 18.5 inches long. As you can see from the pictures, he is a real cutie, maybe even the best looking little boy ever born! (We might be a little biased.) We were so happy to get him home on Saturday. And it has been so fun to see Lily get so excited to have a little brother around. She keeps coming up to him and saying "so sweet" and then leans in to give him some kisses. It is adorable! It is really hard to believe that our family has just gone from 3 to 4. It is a little scary, but we are so excited! I also have to tell a funny story about Lily. On Friday, I took her with me to the store so that she could pick out a present for Boston. As we were walking down the aisle, I kept pointing at different toys and asking if that is what she wanted
